[*] Scope of Service:

(1) Vendor needs to provide braille transcription services to transcribe materials into Braille and deliver final embossed copies.
- Student requires Braille or large print format for a textbook or related core instructional material such as workbooks.
- Provide a written estimate of the cost to obtain the original text, transcribe, and deliver one embossed copy of the educational materials on a per title basis to Oakland Schools
- Provide an ETA for the delivery of the first three volumes and the complete title.
- Indicate the amount of time for us to receive the initial 3, embossed volumes.
- Transcribe the educational materials in accordance with established industry standards, i.e., Unified English Braille (UEB), Nemeth Levels 1-3, Graphics Levels 1-5, Foreign Language Levels 1-2, and Music.
- When available, use NIMAS files to expedite the transcription process and adjust price accordingly.
- Proofread the transcribed materials for errors and omission to ensure 100% accuracy of
- Transcription.
- Printed on white tractor-feed 19 Hole Punched 11” X 11.5” 100 lb. weight paper, or American Thermoform 19 Hole Punched 11” X 11.5” .005 in. thick paper, or paper of equivalent quality and specifications.
- Front covers must be 11” X 11.75” clear plastic.
- Back covers must be 11.25” X 11.75” dark blue beverage display board 14 ply, or royal blue plastic.
- Books must be bound with spiral rings or plastic comb and include the book title and volume number.
(2) All the questions must be submitted no later than May 11, 2023
(3) The contract period will be for three years.
