[*] Scope of Service:

(1) Vendor needs to provide a qualified vendor to transcribe women’s voter registers into a searchable and sortable dataset includes transcribing handwritten registers into a dataset, and investigating and interpreting illegibly written addresses, country names, international city and county names, historic occupations, and naturalization information.
- The Registers to be transcribed for this contract consist of approximately 455 pages of voter records.
- Because of the poor quality of much of the handwritten registers, this work must be completed by humans and may not be completed using an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) system.
- Provided a high-quality pdf scan of the women’s voter registers to be transcribed.
- Vendor will decipher handwriting that is difficult to read and will standardize spelling and abbreviations using the city transcription style guide.
- Vendor will also use resources such as census records, city street books and maps, and city street directories to research, check, and correctly transcribe names and addresses.
(2) The contract period will be for one year.
